“I would like to express my gratitude and great admiration for the way I have been treated in your beautiful facilities”. This is the beginning of the letter of appreciation written by a patient of the International Hospital HC Marbella. Hendrik Arie Boer was operated on for an inguinal hernia – a defect of the abdominal wall that pushes forward part of its content.
Pleased with the treatment he received, Boer commented, “I would certainly recommend other people in the same circumstances to get in touch with your medical team for a pre-operative consultation. The hospital and staff were the absolute top of what I have experienced so far; I would like to convey my satisfaction and congratulate them on their excellent choice of hospital and specialists.”
Doctor Antonio González Chamorro, General Surgery and Gastrointestinal Specialist of the hospital, says, “the challenging part in this case was that although the patient was octogenarian, he had an excellent quality of life and, for that reason, our objective was that the procedure should not mean a change in the activities he enjoyed beforehand”. The incorporation of a prosthesis with local anesthesia ensured the patient recovered completely, in the shortest possible time and with the minimum of discomfort.
According to Doctor Chamorro, “a right balance between training, experience and dedication by the medical team makes the patient feel they are treated well”. These well-proportioned qualities represent the standard of healthcare quality and medical experience our patients are seeking. “They took care of me in a very personal way, almost like I was the only patient in the hospital” concludes Hendrik Boer.
